New program! A group class for high school girls focused on debunking dieting myths and the "thin-ideal" (i.e. the culturally-based definition of what a perfect woman looks like).
- Images of "perfect" bodies are everywhere. Social media, peer pressure and low self-esteem can contribute to body dissatisfaction in high school girls. In this 4 week class we help build skills to challenge the "thin-ideal", change the self-critical voice into a self-accepting one, and reduce maladaptive eating behaviors. We will teach these skills via writing exercises, challenging concepts, discussions, laughter, and community projects. One discussion example is, girls can expect to brainstorm what to say when a friend says "I'm so fat".
- Leaders are masters level registered dietitians/Nutrition Therapists from Metrowest Nutrition.
- Introductory price of $60 is half-off regular price.
